The ARG from 1 April will comprise of standard ARG support and an ARG Restart Grant for eligible businesses, with businesses benefitting from either element based on key criteria. Priority will be given to those businesses that have already applied to ARG and have successfully received grant funding. All ARG grants will be considered from 1 April 2021 and will not be backdated.

Depending on eligibility and re-opening date:

ARG Standard rate – from £214 per 12-day period (one-off payment)

ARG Restart Strand 1 – from £1,000 (one-off payment)

ARG Restart Strand 2 – from £4,000 (one-off payment).

Due to financial limitations, the ARG will not re-open for new applications.

Businesses that have received ARG previously will be prioritised.

Existing successful applicants or Expressions of Interest will be contacted by the end of April 2021.

Applications Closing on the 28th of February

This is a one-off additional Top-Up Grant for businesses supported by the Ashford Additional Restriction Grant (Discretionary) scheme and is only available for qualifying businesses for the period of the National Lockdown from 5 January to 15 February 2021.  All businesses will need to have applied for the Ashford Borough Council Additional Restriction Grant scheme, and have had their application approved as eligible for the period of the January national lockdown. This grant will then be automatically applied to these successful grant payments.

The grants will be paid out at the following levels over and above the standard ARG payments that successful applicants will receive:

£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under, or paid an ARG grant of £667 per 14 day period.

£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000 or paid an ARG grant of £1,000 per 14 day period.

£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000 or paid an ARG grant of £1,500 per 14 day period.

All business that have been paid an ARG grant of under £667 per 14 day period will receive a one off grant of £2,000.

Closed businesses applying for ARG (Discretionary) funding will be required to make a statement that confirms their eligibility. The council places responsibility on the applicant to agree that their statement is correct to the best of their knowledge. In addition, businesses that are required to close will need to provide evidence of their trading status. This will be in the form of a bank statement (showing business/applicant’s name, registered address with income within the last 3 months).

Open businesses that are applying for ARG (Discretionary) or LRSG (Open) funding will be required to make a statement that confirms their eligibility. The council places responsibility on the applicant to agree that their statement is correct to the best of their knowledge. In addition, businesses that are not required to close will need to provide evidence to demonstrate they supply companies that are required to close and an impact on income. This will be in the form of a bank statement (showing the business name or applicant’s name, registered address with income within the last 3 months) and an invoice (showing the business name, client name and registered address dated within the last 3 months).

Businesses with a business rates account that are required to close under Tier 3 or Tier 4 restrictions.

• For properties with a rateable value of £15k or under, grants to be £667 for the 14-day period
• For properties with a rateable value of over £15k and below £51k, grants to be £1,000 for the 14-day period
• For properties with a rateable value of £51k or over, grants to be £1,500 for the 14-day period

All businesses eligible for this grant will receive an email from the Council on the 9th December to confirm the details of this payment – please check your junk mailbox. If you have not received this email then please apply first for the LRSG (Closed) National Lockdown November 2020 grant if you have not done so already.

Applications Closing 28th February

The restart grant scheme is a one-off grant provided by the government.

To apply, your business must:

be in one of the following sectors:

• non-essential retail
• hospitality
• gyms and sport
• personal care
• leisure
• accommodation

• occupy a property that is in the ratings list
• have been trading on 1 April 2021 – this includes those with staff on furlough, trading online or via click and collect, businesses not in liquidation or dissolved or stuck off, and businesses carrying out activity such as managing accounts, planning reopening and implementing COVID-safe measures

The following thresholds apply for non-essential retail:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £2,667
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £4,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £6,000

You need to complete an application form to apply for both the lockdown grant and the tier restriction periods (if they apply to your business).

Our team has been working hard to make sure the COVID-related business support grants paid for by the government have gone into business bank accounts.

Because of the amount of applications for the Additional Restrictions Grant and Additional Restrictions (Extra Support) Grant, these grants are now closed as applications have used up all of the funds given to us by the government.

Your application for these schemes might still need processing, and we will contact you directly to let you know if you have been successful.

We have been chasing some businesses for extra information for six weeks, and have not heard back from them. Those applications will now be closed and not paid.

Businesses required to close by Government and registered for business rates.

If your business is forced to close during the national lockdown starting on 5 January 2021 you can apply for a grant.
These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:

£2001 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or less
£3,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£4,500 for businesses with a rateable value over £51,000

If you have applied for  or received a national restrictions grant (5th November to the 1st of December) or a tier restrictions grant then You don’t need to apply again. We’ll contact you to confirm payment or ask for more information.

If you have not applied previously for a national lockdown grant or a tier restrictions grant then you need to complete an application form to apply for both the lockdown grant and the tier restriction periods (if they apply to your business).

We are awaiting guidance and the funds from Government for this scheme.

Businesses that have been forced to close but don’t have a business rates liability because they are not separately rated (for example market traders or shared accommodation where the landlord pays the business rates), or they are in the council tax list (such as B&Bs)

Or businesses that have a business rates liability and are allowed to remain open, but are being severely impacted by the national lockdown because their main customers have been forced to close (such as suppliers to the retail, hospitality and leisure industries).

Eligibility for the CBLP is the same as the LRSG (Closed) Addendum: 5 January onwards scheme. Businesses that are eligible are those that have been mandated to close by Government and include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses.

These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:
£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

You don’t need to apply for this grant separately. It will be paid the same time as the national lockdown (5 January 2021 to 15 February) grant.

We are also providing discretionary support for businesses affected by the lockdown and tier restrictions.

We are aware that some businesses, having already applied for other available grants, may still need further support to continue to operate.

Each application will be considered on a case by case basis.

Businesses classed as hospitality, tourism, leisure, event organisers or language schools that were allowed to remain open during Tier 3 restrictions (2 December to 19 December 2020), but were significantly affected during this time can apply for a discretionary grant for every 14 day-period they were

£467 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£700 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£1,050 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

Businesses that have been forced to close but don’t have a business rates liability because they are not separately rated (for example market traders or shared accommodation where the landlord pays the business rates), or they are in the council tax list (such as B&Bs)

Or businesses that have a business rates liability and are allowed to remain open, but are being severely impacted by the national lockdown because their main customers have been forced to close (such as suppliers to the retail, hospitality and leisure industries).

For businesses that have a rateable value and are required to close as advised by the Government.

To be eligible for this grant, your business property must fall under one of the categories on the government’s list of businesses forced to close.

If most of your business was forced to close but you were operating a takeaway or click and collect service, you may still be eligible for a grant.

Although some businesses were allowed to resume trading from 2 December (previously 3 December), businesses that are eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant will receive a grant for payment to cover the period from 5 November up to and including 1 December.

If you reopened on 2 December 2020, you will still be eligible for support from this scheme.

One grant is available for each qualifying property. If a business is responsible for multiple properties, they may qualify for more than one grant.

We are providing discretionary support for businesses affected by the national lockdown from 5 November to 1 December 2020. This is called the Additional Restrictions Grant.

We have created a scheme to help businesses that we feel will be the most impacted by lockdown restrictions.

Our scheme will help those businesses that either:
have been forced to close but don’t have a business rates liability because they are not separately rated (for example market traders or shared accommodation where the landlord pays the business rates), or they are in the council tax list (such as B&Bs)
have a business rates liability and are allowed to remain open, but are being severely impacted by the national lockdown because their main customers have been forced to close (such as suppliers to the retail, hospitality and leisure industries).

The Restart Grant scheme is designed to support non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses that are pre-dominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public and support will take the form of one-off grants.

• The property from which the service is provided must be shown in the local rating list
• The business must have been trading on 1 April 2021
• The business must not have already received grant payments that equal the maximum permitted subsidy allowances
• Businesses must not be in administration, insolvent or have a striking-off notice made on Companies House

If you do not qualify for a Restart Grant, discretionary funding may be available to help businesses that were required to close, but are not registered for business rates or were able to remain open but have been severely impacted by the national lockdown restrictions. This will include businesses that supply the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors and businesses in the events sector. To qualify for this funding, businesses must have been trading in the Dartford Borough Council area on the 1 April 2021 and have business premises in the Dartford Borough Council area.

If you have already applied for and received a support grant for the second period of national lockdown and have now been ordered to close from 5 January 2021 you will not need to make an application for this one-off grant. This is regardless of whether you were able to open under Tier 3 and Tier 4 restrictions.

Payment will be made using the details already provided. If you are no longer eligible for the grant then you must inform the Council and repay the grant when requested.

If you have not already applied for a national lockdown grant and have been ordered to close from 5 January 2021, you will need to make an application for a national lockdown grant and you will automatically be assessed for this grant at the same time.

In line with the grant available to closed businesses paying business rates the Council has decided to award an additional one-off business grant to businesses awarded ARG in period of national restrictions except in the case of those with low fixed costs (e.g. home based and mobile businesses).

If you have not already applied for a national lockdown grant and have been ordered to close from 5 January 2021, you will need to make an application for a national lockdown grant and you will automatically be assessed for this grant at the same time.

Businesses required to close by Government and registered for business rates.

Businesses ordered to close as a result of Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions may be eligible for a payment where they meet the eligibility criteria of the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Scheme.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Scheme Policy

NB: Please note that whilst this policy refers to Tier 3 it is also valid for Tier 4

For the period 2 December 2020 to 18 December 2020 under Tier 3:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for a payment of £809.93
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for a payment of £1,214.29
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 are eligible for a payment of £1,821.43

For the period 19 December 2020 to 4 January 2021 under Tier 4:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for a payment of £809.93
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for a payment of £1,214.29
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 are eligible for a payment of £1,821.43

If you have already applied for and received a support grant for the second period of national lockdown and you have been ordered to remain closed between 2 December 2020 and 4 January 2021, you will not need to make a further application for the period of the Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions.

Payment will automatically be made using the details already provided. If you are no longer eligible for the grant then you must inform the Council and repay the grant when requested.

If you have not already applied, you will need to submit an application.

Assistance for businesses severely impacted by the Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions

The Council will also support those businesses that are able to open during the Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions but will have a significant reduction in income. This will be through the Local Restrictions Grant (Open) Scheme. To qualify for this funding, businesses must have been trading in Dartford on the first day of the restrictions and have business premises in Dartford.

The amount of the grant will depend on the rateable value of the business premises as shown on the local rating list:
For properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under on the date of commencement of the local restrictions the payment will be £467 per 14 day qualifying restriction period;
For properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 on the date of commencement of the local restrictions the payment will be £700 per 14 day qualifying restriction period;
For properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over on the date of commencement of the local restrictions the payment will be £1,050 per 14 day qualifying period.

The Restart Grant scheme is designed to support non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses that are pre-dominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public and support will take the form of one-off grants.

As we didn’t collect all of this information as part of previous Covid-19 grant application forms, we are going to have to ask you to complete a new form to claim this grant. We appreciate this is not ideal and that we do have some of this information already, but the new Government reporting requirements mean we have to collect additional information for all Restart Grant applicants.

 Businesses that do not qualify for the Local Restrictions Grant but can demonstrate significant fixed regular costs plus a significant drop in income caused by the pandemic

The scheme follows on from the two previous phases and is for the period 16 February 2021 to 31 March 2021.  The scheme may be extended depending on the Government’s roadmap.

We have introduced a new £1,000 lump sum payment for businesses with very low fixed costs.

Businesses with low fixed costs will receive a lump sum of £1000

Businesses with no rateable value will receive £2096

Businesses with rateable value between 0-15k will receive £2096

Businesses with rateable value between 15,001 – 50,999 will receive £3143

The Council recognises that some businesses that are unable to open have costs significantly greater than the grant funding they have received. This grant has an allocation of £0.5 million.

Small and medium businesses with less than 50 employees and an annual turnover of not more than £10.2 million may apply for this scheme.

Applicants must fit ALL of the following criteria.

Business must:

• be in the tourism, leisure, hospitality or events industries
• have fixed costs of over £2,000 per month (fixed costs do not include stock, staff, personal or household costs)
• have been severely affected since the pandemic began
• operate from an address in the Dover district
• have a significant effect on the local economy (eg have local employees or provide a service to the people of Dover district)
• have not received significant funding from other Government bodies, such as the Arts Council
• be within State Aid limits

We will endeavour to support the regular, fixed business costs minus any income for the periods that businesses have been unable to trade since March 2020, up to a maximum of £50,000.

Local Restrictions Support Grant (open) (for businesses not forced to close during tier restrictions but severely impacted)

Support from 2 December 2020 to 19 December 2020 for businesses classed as hospitality, hotels, bed & breakfasts or leisure businesses that were able to remain open during the tier restrictions, but were severely impacted by the restrictions.

Businesses can get a grant for every 14-day period they were affected by the tier 3 restrictions:
£467 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£700 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£1,050 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000.

Our Additional Restrictions Grants have been introduced to help businesses with their fixed, regular costs throughout the lockdown period.

Businesses that were forced to close during the 27 day national lockdown period, or have been forced to remain closed since the beginning of the first national lockdown on 23 March 2020.

The criteria for this grant have been set by the government and we have no discretion in the decision making process.

To qualify for this grant, the business must be in the Rating List and be responsible for the business rates for their property.

One grant is available for each qualifying property. If a business is responsible for multiple properties, they may qualify for more than one grant.
£1,334 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£2,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£3,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000.

If a property doesn’t have a rateable value, the maximum grant awarded will be £1,334. The amount of the grant in these cases will be worked out by looking at the rent paid, the size of the business and the estimated impact of the lockdown on the business.

Eligibility
You will be eligible for a grant if you were trading on or before 4 November 2020, and your business has:

been forced to close from 5 November 2020 and/or from 2 December 2020
been forced to remain closed since the first lockdown began on 23 March 2020, but you still intend to reopen once the restrictions have been lifted, or
not been forced to close from 5 November 2020, but was significantly impacted by the second national lockdown and/or Tier 3 restrictions.

You may not be eligible for a grant if:

your business is in administration, insolvent or subject to a striking-off notice since 4 November 2020
your business was not trading on or before 4 November 2020 or 1 December 2020
the property that you are applying for is not based in the Dover District Council area.

Businesses  with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above on the commencement date of the widespread national restrictions in November, will receive a payment of £13,500 for the 6 week period of national restrictions in January and February (made up of LRSG £4,500 & Closed Business Lockdown Grant £9,000).

On 9 September 2020, the government announced there would be further funding to support businesses that are required to close due to localised restrictions. These schemes are known as Local Restrictions Support Grants (open) and Local Restrictions Support Grants (closed).

In addition, on 9 October 2020 the Government announced there would be funding to support businesses that had been required to close on a national basis since 23 March 2020.

When national restrictions are imposed, the Local Restrictions Support Grants (open) and Local Restrictions Support Grants (Sector) will cease to apply and the Local Restrictions Support Grants (closed) addendum will be launched. The national restrictions ran from 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020 and currently from 5 January 2021 onwards.

Gravesham borough council are currently carrying out the required pre-payment checks. Then will be making payments automatically to eligible businesses that have previously received grants. There will be no need to complete a new application.

Additional grant support is available to Gravesham businesses that have been severely impacted by Covid-19 restrictions and are of strategic importance to the Borough and/or able to demonstrate a significant contribution to employment, training, well-being or culture.

Priority will be given to businesses that have not received support through other Covid-19 grants schemes, including Small Business Grants Fund (SBGF), Retail, Hospitality & Leisure Grant Fund (RHLGF), Discretionary Grant Fund (DGF), Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) and Restart Grant (RG).

Businesses are asked to evidence a high level of fixed costs and severe loss (>35%) of income during the pandemic.

Applications are required by 13 June 2021.

The Council will take account of the businesses level of fixed costs, the number of employees the business has, whether it has been able to trade online and the consequent scale of Coronavirus losses.

As a result of the national lockdown imposed from 5 January, the LRSG will be paid for six weeks from this date. This period has now been extended by 44 days to cover to 31st March.

For properties with a rateable value of between £15k-£51k grants to be £2,000 per month, or £1,000 per two weeks

ARG Round 4 is a discretionary grant designed to support businesses that fall into one of the following categories:

Category A

Non-essential Retail, hospitality or leisure sector that has been legally required to close; occupy a commercial workspace and have been unable to claim support through the LRSG as they are not the business ratepayer.

Category B

Supply Chain for goods or services to the retail, hospitality or leisure sector represents 50% or more of their income, occupy commercial workspace and are unable to claim support through the LRSG.

Category C

Essential retail, occupy commercial workspace and whilst not legally required to close have decided to temporarily close due to it not being possible to trade in a Covid secure way.

Category D

Limited companies and business start-ups with less than 50 employees, that have seen a significant reduction in income and have been unable to claim support through the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme or LRSG. (includes home based businesses)

Category E

Hardship fund, all businesses that have been able to remain open but have seen significantly reduction in income and trade due to reduced footfall. Are registered for business rates and have been unable to claim support through the LRSG.

Category A & C

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £15,000
or under will receive a one-off payment of up-to £4,668 (retail) or £10,001
(hospitality, leisure, and personal care).

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent between
£15,000 and under £51,000 will receive a one-off payment of up-to £7,000
(retail) or £15,000 (hospitality, leisure, and personal care).

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of exactly
£51,000 or above will receive a one-off payment of up-to £10,500 (retail) or
£22,500(hospitality, leisure, and personal care).

Category B

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £15,000
or under will receive a one-off payment of up-to £3,268 (retail) or
£7,001(hospitality, leisure and personal care).

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent over
£15,000 and below £51,000 will receive a one-off payment of up-to £4,900
(retail) or £10,500 (hospitality, leisure, and personal care).

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £51,000
and over will receive a one-off payment of up-to £7,350 (retail) or £15,750
(hospitality, leisure, and personal care).

Category D

The council will aim to make an award of up-to £2,801.

Category E

Businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under will receive a oneoff payment of up-to £1,867.

Businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and under £51,000 will
receive a one-off payment of up-to £2,800.

Businesses with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or above will receive
a one-off payment of up-to £4,200.

Authority is delegated to the Head of Economic Development and
Regeneration, in consultation with the Director of Finance and Business
Improvement to consider and make individual awards up to a value of
£100,000 for:

• Businesses in difficulty that are of importance to the borough given
their impact on the quantum and or quality of employment, or services to
residents or the visitor economy.

• Business support including activity to aid the reopening and
recovery of the High Street.

The additional restrictions grant (ARG) Round 3 is a discretionary grant that covers the period from the 31st Dec to the 16th of Feb and is targeted at businesses that are in one of the following categories:

Category A 

Businesses must be operating in a sector (retail, hospitality or
leisure) that has been legally required to close; occupy a commercial workspace
within the borough and be unable to claim financial support through the LRSG as
they are not the business ratepayer for the premises which they occupy

Category B 

Businesses must receive their primary source of income (over
50%) through the supply of goods or services to the retail, hospitality or leisure sector , occupy a commercial workspace within the borough and are unable to
claim financial support through the LRSG

Category C 

Businesses that are essential retail, occupy commercial workspace
within the Borough and whilst not legally required to close have decided to close
and temporarily cease trading due to it not being possible to trade in a Covid
secure way due to the nature of premises occupied

Category D

Businesses which are classified as either a small or micro business
(less than 50 employees), that have seen a significant reduction in income and
have been unable to claim support through either the Self-Employed Income
Support Scheme or any other mandatory Business Grant Schemes provided by
the Government and delivered by Maidstone Borough Council. For the avoidance
of doubt, this includes limited companies working from home with no commercial
property

The amount of the payment to be made to a business is at the discretion of the
Council and will be subject to demand on the scheme and available funding.

Category A & C
The Council will aim to make awards to businesses equivalent to the Local
Restrictions Support Grant and Closed Business Lockdown Grant.

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £15,000
or under will receive a payment of £6,001

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent between
£15,000 and under £51,000 will receive a payment of £9,000

Businesses with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of exactly

Category B
The council will aim to make awards to businesses equivalent to 70% of the
Local Restrictions Support Grant.

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £15,000
or under will receive a one-off payment of £1,401

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent over
£15,000 and below £51,000 will receive a one-off payment of £2,100

Properties with a rateable value or otherwise pay a commercial rent of £51,000
and over will receive a one-off payment of £3,150

Category D

The council will aim to make an award of £1,401

Businesses that qualified for a grant under round 2 of the Additional Restrictions
Grant discretionary scheme and meet
the criteria for round 3 of the scheme will be automatically awarded a further
grant with no need for a further application.

Businesses who have previously applied for the LRSG because they had to close during the lockdown that ran till 2nd December and are eligible for the additional tier 4 grant for the period 20th Dec to 4th Jan 2021.

Maidstone was placed in Tier 4 from 20 December to the 4th January. There are further Local Restriction Support Grants (LRSG) available for the businesses listed below that had to remain closed.
Hospitality venues such as cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, Accommodation such as hotels, hostels, guest houses, Entertainment venues such as theatres, concert halls, cinemas, museums, amusement arcades, bingo halls, bowling alleys, Non-essential retail, such as clothing and homeware stores, vehicle showrooms (other than for rental), betting shops
Personal care facilities such as hair, beauty, tanning and nail salons
Community Centres, Halls, Indoor and Outdoor sports and leisure facilities

Businesses who have previously applied for the LRSG because they had to close during the lockdown that ran till 2nd December and who are eligible for the additional tier 4 grant will receive an email from the council, inviting them to apply.

Please note that businesses will not be able to apply for the Tier 4 grant before having applied for the national LRSG (covering 5 November to 2 December 2020).

This grant covers the period 2nd December to 30th December 2020.

ARG Round 2 is a discretionary grant targeted at businesses that are not covered by other lockdown grants.

This round of funding closed on 7/1/2021.

Businesses who have previously applied for the LRSG because they had to close during the lockdown that ran till 2nd December and are eligible for the additional tier 3 grant.

Maidstone has been placed in Tier 3 from 2 December there are further Local Restriction Support Grants (LRSG) available, on a 14-day basis, for the businesses listed below that have had to remain closed.

The Restart Grant scheme is designed to support non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses that are pre-dominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public and support will take the form of one-off grants.

The following thresholds apply for non-essential retail:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £2,667
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £4,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £6,000

To be eligible for an Additional Restrictions Grant your business must be in Medway and not eligible for a Local Restrictions Support Grant.

The grant is to support eligible businesses that have been:

forced to close under the government’s national lockdown restrictions in place from 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020, and not eligible for a Local Restrictions Support Grant

Or

significantly affected but not forced to closed during the national lockdown restrictions (5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020).

We will assess grant applications and make awards subject to business size, fixed costs and the evidence provided. The maximum grant award for this scheme is £3,000.

If your business has multiple properties trading within the Medway Council boundary, a maximum of 2 properties can be supported through this scheme.

You need to provide all or some of the following information:

business rates account number (if you pay business rates)

company or charity registration number

VAT registration number (if registered for VAT)

bank account details

business details

the number of employees in your business

You need to provide the following documents:

your latest annual accounts (management or audited accounts), this must clearly show your last 3 months of income

most recent bank statement in the name of the business (showing account number, sort code, payee name and address)

evidence of ongoing fixed costs in the form of a lease or rental agreement, utility bill, other bill or invoice, buildings insurance. This does not include employment costs.

evidence that shows your loss of income or sales. This can be your latest monthly accounts for November 2020, and a comparator period within the last 12 months (November 2020 and November 2019) or bank statements that clearly show the loss of income due to the national lockdown restrictions from 5 November 2020 to 2 December 2020

if your business was not forced to close, you will need to provide an invoice that shows that your business has conducted work with a company that was legally forced to close under the national lockdown restrictions. This must show the business name, client name and registered address dated within the last 6 months.

The Restart Grant scheme is designed to support non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses that are pre-dominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public and support will take the form of one-off grants.

• The property from which the service is provided must be shown in the local rating list
• The business must have been trading on 1 April 2021
• The business must not have already received grant payments that equal the maximum permitted subsidy allowances
• Businesses must not be in administration, insolvent or have a striking-off notice made on Companies House

If you do not qualify for a Restart Grant, discretionary funding may be available to help businesses that were required to close, but are not registered for business rates or were able to remain open but have been severely impacted by the national lockdown restrictions. This will include businesses that supply the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors and businesses in the events sector. To qualify for this funding, businesses must have been trading in the Sevenoaks District Council area on the 1 April 2021 and have business premises in the Sevenoaks District.

The following thresholds apply for non-essential retail businesses:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £2,667
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £4,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £6,000

The following thresholds apply for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £8,000
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £12,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £18,000

If a business operates services that are considered non-essential and also fall into another category, such as hospitality, the main service will be the category which constitutes 50% or more of the overall business.

One-off grants are available for all businesses ordered to close during the third national lockdown from 5 January 2021. The scheme will close for applications on 31 March 2021.

The level of grant available depends on the rateable value of your business premises on the 5 January 2021

Eligibility for the CBLP is the same as the LRSG (Closed) Addendum: 5 January onwards scheme. Businesses that are eligible are those that have been mandated to close by Government and include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses.

These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:

£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000

£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

In line with the grant available to closed businesses paying business rates, we have decided to award an additional one-off business grant to businesses awarded ARG in period of national restrictions except in the case of those with low fixed costs (e.g. home based and mobile businesses).

If you have not already applied for a national lockdown grant and have been ordered to close from 5 January 2021, you will need to make an application for a national lockdown grant and you will automatically be assessed for this grant at the same time.

Sevenoaks District went into Tier 3 on 2 December then tier 4 from 20 December 2020 resulting in some businesses being ordered to close.

These businesses may be eligible for a payment if they meet the eligibility criteria of the Local Restrictions Support Grant scheme (Closed). Please note that whilst this policy refers to Tier 3 it also applies to Tier 4.

The amount of grant will depend on the rateable value of the business premises on 2 December 2020:

Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for a payment of £667 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place

Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for a payment of £1,000 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place

Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 are eligible for a payment of £1,500 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place

If you successfully applied for funding through the Local Restrictions Support Grant Scheme (Closed) because your businesses was forced to close during the national last lockdown, and you are still required to close as a result of the Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions, further funding will be automatically applied based on 14 day eligibility cycles. There is no need for you to re-apply for funding.

If you successfully applied for funding through the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Scheme because your businesses was forced to close during the national last lockdown, but is now able to re-open, from 2 December 2020 and are still able to remain open under Tier 4 restrictions, you will not be entitled to further funding unless you can demonstrate your business is still severely impacted by the Tier 3/Tier 4 restrictions.

If your business was able to open from 2 December 2020 but had to close again from 20 December 2020 you can apply for funding based on the effect of the restrictions in each Tier.

We are supporting businesses that are able to open during the Tier 3 and 4 restrictions, but will have a significant reduction in income. This will be through the Local Restrictions Grant (Open) Scheme.

To qualify for this support, you business must have been trading in the Sevenoaks District on the first day of the restrictions and have business premises in the Sevenoaks District.

The amount of the grant will depend on the rateable value of the business premises as shown on the local rating list on 2 December 2020:
Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for a payment of £467 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place
Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for a payment of £700 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place
Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 are eligible for a payment of £1,050 for each 14 days the restrictions are in place

For properties without a rateable value, grant funding will be applied based on the size of the business and the projected impact of the restrictions. In most cases, funding will be at the lower rateable value level as show above.
Businesses wishing to apply for this funding will need to complete an application form even if they have already applied for support during the national lockdown.

As we didn’t collect all of this information as part of previous Covid-19 grant application forms, we are going to have to ask you to complete a new form to claim this grant. We appreciate this is not ideal and that we do have some of this information already, but the new Government reporting requirements mean we have to collect additional information for all Restart Grant applicants.

These grants are payable monthly and are based on the rateable value of the business:

£2001 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

£3000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000

£4500 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000.

If you haven’t already applied for or received a grant payment for the national lockdown period 5 November to 1 December 2020 or the tier periods, please complete an application form to apply for a grant for the national lockdowns and tier restriction periods (if applicable for your business).

You do not need to apply if you have received or applied for either of the November lockdown grants or a tier grant. We will be in contact with you to confirm payment or request more information.

This grant is to assist businesses with their fixed costs and income loss for the period 5 November to 15 February 2021. It is not for loss of personal income covered by the Government’s Self Employment and Furlough schemes. The grant includes a one-off payment in accordance with guidelines

Rejected applicants can appeal by email to ARG@thanet.gov.uk within two weeks of receiving a decision notification. These will be considered by the council and the decision will be final. The applicant will be notified of the decision by email.

Eligibility for the CBLP is the same as the LRSG (Closed) Addendum: 5 January onwards scheme. Businesses that are eligible are those that have been mandated to close by Government and include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses.

These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:
£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

Businesses that were forced to close for at least 14 days because of the restrictions, or have been forced to remain closed since the beginning of the first national lockdown on 23 March 2020.

To qualify for this grant, the business must:
be in the Rating List and be responsible for the business rates for their propertyhave been forced to close for at least 14 days because of the restrictions.

The criteria for this grant have been set by the government and we have no discretion in the decision making process.

Tier 3 Restrictions Period:

£857.57 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

£1285.71 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999

£1928.57 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

Tier Four Restrictions Period:

£762.29 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

£1142.86 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999

£1714.29 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

If your business wasn’t forced to close during Tier 3 restrictions (2 December to 19 December 2020) but was significantly affected by the restrictions and is classed as a hospitality, hotel, bed & breakfast, tourism, leisure, event organisers or language school business, we may be able to make payment to you for the period during tier restrictions without the need for another application. We will email you to let you know if we are able to do this or whether we need you to complete another application.

For businesses with a rateable business premises and not forced to close during tier restrictions but severely impacted.

Support from 2 December 2020 to 19 December 2020 for businesses classed as hospitality, hotels, bed & breakfasts, tourism, leisure, event organisers or language schools that were able to remain open during the tier restrictions, but were severely impacted by the restrictions.

Businesses can get a grant for every 14-day period they were affected by the tier 3 restrictions:
£467 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£700 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£1,050 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000.

This is a discretionary scheme we have designed to help those businesses during and after the second national lockdown that began on 5 November 2020 that either:

£2,667 for businesses with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on 01 April 2021.

The level of funding on offer for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses with a business rates account is:

£18,000 for businesses with a rateable value of exactly £51,000 or over on 01 April 2021

£12,000 for businesses with a rateable value over £15,000 and less than £51,000 on 01 April 2021

£8,000 for businesses with a rateable value of exactly £15,000 or under on 01 April 2021.

The ARG (Discretionary) Restart Grant scheme is aimed at supporting businesses that are ineligible for the Mandatory Restart Grants, and yet have been impacted by coronavirus restrictions.

The priorities for this fund are:

• Hospitality and Leisure Businesses (in a commercial premises but without a Rateable Value)
• Non-Essential Retail Businesses (in a commercial premises but without a Rateable Value)
• Suppliers to the Hospitality, Retail or Leisure Sectors; and
• Businesses in the Green Economy (in support of our Climate Change Strategy)

However, this list is not exhaustive and businesses outside of this list are invited to apply.

Indicative funding levels are set out in the policy, but the following is an overview:

• Hospitality and Leisure Businesses (in a commercial premises but without a Rateable Value) – £4,000 to £18,000
• Non-Essential Retail Businesses (in a commercial premises but without a Rateable Value); Suppliers to the Hospitality, Retail or Leisure Sectors; Businesses in the Green Economy – £2,667 to £6,000
• Home-based businesses, taxi drivers (with a TMBC licence), market traders and mobile businesses – £1,000 (up to £1,500 in exceptional circumstances)
• Other businesses in Non-Priority sectors – £1,500 to £5,000

As we have a limited pot of funding of £850,000 and demand is likely to be high, we cannot guarantee that all eligible applicants will receive funding support. Please note also that the funding levels set out in the policy are indicative only and are liable to change.

This is a discretionary scheme that is aimed only at supporting businesses that are unable to access the LRSG (Closed)  and the Closed Business Lockdown Payment Scheme (CBLP) during the current lockdown period but have been adversely impacted by the lockdown and have fixed costs to meet.

We are unable to top-up funding for recipients of the LRSG5JAN or the CBLP Schemes through this discretionary fund.

For businesses with a business rates account that are eligible for this scheme, the grant levels will aim to mirror the amounts offered via the closed business lockdown payment and LRSG (Closed) Scheme

£6001 (£4000 one off bonus plus £2001 lump sum) for businesses with a rateable value of £1 to £15,000

£9000 (£6000 one off bonus plus £3000 lump sum) for businesses with a rateable value of £15,001 to £50,999

£13,500 (£9000 one off bonus plus £4500 lump sum) for businesses with a rateable value of £51,000 and over

For businesses without a business rates account that are eligible for this scheme, the following is an indicative breakdown of likely awards:

£13,500 for larger local businesses with high fixed costs (Over 20 employees)

£9000 for small businesses with high fixed costs (5-20 employees)

£6001 for micro businesses with high fixed costs (0-4 employees)

£2000 for homebased businesses

Sports and Leisure Facilities

Hotels and B&Bs and Entertainment venues

For businesses with a business rates account that are eligible for this scheme, the grant levels will be:

£3000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,001 to £50,999

£4500 for businesses with a rateable of £51,000 and over

For businesses without a business rates accoun the following is an indicative breakdown:

£3000 for small businesses with high fixed costs (5-20 employees)

£4500 for larger local businesses with high fixed costs (over 20 employees)

Discretionary funding for the council to determine how they use to support local businesses.

The Additional Restrictions Grant (Discretionary) Scheme (ARG) closed to applications on 16 December 2020. During this round, approximately £450,000 was distributed to over 300 local businesses.

The Restart Grant scheme is designed to support non-essential retail, hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses that are pre-dominantly reliant on delivering in-person services for the general public and support will take the form of one-off grants.

• The property from which the service is provided must be shown in the local rating list
• The business must have been trading on 1 April 2021
• The business must not have already received grant payments that equal the maximum permitted subsidy allowances
• Businesses must not be in administration, insolvent or have a striking-off notice made on Companies House

The following thresholds apply for non-essential retail:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £2,667
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £4,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £6,000

The following thresholds apply for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym business premises:

• Properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under are eligible for £8,000
• Properties with a rateable value between £15,001 and £50,999 are eligible for £12,000
• Properties with a rateable value of £51,000 and above are eligible for £18,000

The Additional Restrictions Restart Grants are one off payments, intended to help businesses as they reopen over the next few months.

Available to businesses that do not have a business rates account and are required to close or businesses that have been significantly impacted by the restrictions and are rated but do not fit the criteria for the LRSG or Restart grant schemes

This discretionary funding is available to businesses based out of a commercial property and to home based business providing ‘in person’ services in the following areas:

Commercial Property:

• Non-essential Retail
  (businesses that are open to the public and are used mainly or wholly for the purposes of non-essential retail sale or hire of goods or services)
• Hospitality
  (businesses whose main function is to provide a venue for the consumption and sale of food and beverages)
• Event organisers
  (organisers of commercial or private events, tourism and experiences. This does not include businesses who are in the supply chain to Events – except Food and Beverage businesses – mentioned below).
• Leisure providers
  (includes Gym and Sport businesses- where physical exercise or training is on an individual or group basis)
• Personal Care services
  (businesses who provide a service, treatment or activity for the purposes of personal beauty, hair, grooming, body care, aesthetics and wellbeing. This includes those renting a chair/space in a commercial property)
• Food & Beverage supply chain to the Hospitality and Events industry
  (Wholesale suppliers of food and beverages to businesses forced to close in the Hospitality and Events industry)

Home Based:

• Non-essential Retail
  (home based businesses that are open to the public and are used mainly or wholly for the purposes of non-essential retail sale or hire of goods or services)
• Event organisers
  (home based organisers of commercial or private events, tourism and experiences. This does not include businesses who are in the supply chain to Events – except Food and Beverage businesses- mentioned below)
• Leisure providers
  (registered home-based leisure businesses that, when allowed to trade, cannot maintain strict social distancing e.g. sports and exercise classes)
• Personal Care services
  (registered home-based personal care businesses that, when allowed to trade, cannot maintain strict social distancing e.g. mobile hairdressers/ beauticians)
• Market traders
  (who have not been able to trade as the market has been closed or selling non-essential retail. This is based on home address – the location of the market will not be taken into account)
• Food & Beverage supply chain to Hospitality and Events sector
  (Wholesale suppliers of food and beverages to businesses forced to close in the Hospitality and Events sectors)
• Holiday Lets of the entire property or part of the domestic property (e.g. Bed and Breakfast establishments), or, land which forms part of the domestic property (e.g. small campsites)

The value of the Additional Restrictions Restart Grant awarded to successful applicants will be based on the business sector as well as the size of the business.

Following the previous instalment of the LRSG (Closed) mentioned above, a further instalment of this grant is available for the period 16 February – 31 March 2021- a 44 day period. Businesses required to close in England will be eligible for the following:

£2,096 per 44 days, for properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

£3,143 per 44 days, for properties with a rateable value of between £15,001 and £51,000

£4,714 per 44 days, for properties with a rateable value of £51,000 or over.

Businesses will be contacted via the email address that was previously provided to us for the above instalments of the LRSG Closed.

Please note- the final application date for this is 31 May 2021.

Businesses already in receipt of the LRSG will be contacted via the email address that was previously provided to us for the previous instalments of the LRSG Closed.

As a result of the national lockdown imposed from 5 January, the LRSG Closed will be paid for six weeks from this date.

• £2,001 per 42 days for properties with a rateable value of £15,000 or under

• £4,500 per 42 days, for properties with a rateable value of £51,001 or over

Businesses will be contacted via the email address that was previously provided to us for the previous instalments of the LRSG Closed.

Businesses that have not already applied for the LRSG for the period of the second national lockdown (5th Nov – 1st Dec) will need to complete an application form to be assessed for that period and all subsequent grants

Eligibility for the CBLP is the same as the LRSG (Closed) Addendum: 5 January onwards scheme. Businesses that are eligible are those that have been mandated to close by Government and include non-essential retail, leisure, personal care, sports facilities and hospitality businesses.

These grants are based on the rateable value of the business:

£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000

Eligible businesses previously in receipt of the LRSG (Closed) have been directly contacted via email.

New applicants will need to complete the online form.

This grant scheme covers the period from 5th January to the 15th of February and supports businesses in any sector, whether they have had to close as a result of the restrictions or have been able to remain open or partially open (except those previously in receipt of the ARG Round 2 or the LRSG Closed)

businesses in either rated premises, or, non-rated premises (or those not liable for rate payments). This includes those in shared spaces, home based businesses, B&Bs,  holiday lets, market traders.

Businesses will not be eligible for ARG 3 if:

• they have received grant funding through the ARG Round 2 schemes (including the ARG Hospitality top up) as the funding awarded under ARG 2 covers the period from 2 December 2020 – 15 February 2021.
• they have been in receipt of grants through the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) scheme.

The amount awarded to businesses will vary according to the rateable value of the premise occupied.

Businesses that applied under ARG Round 2 but were not awarded funding are not required to resubmit evidence of fixed costs, as we already hold this information.

Businesses will not be eligible for ARG 3 if:

• they have received grant funding through the ARG Round 2 schemes (including the ARG Hospitality top up) as the funding awarded under ARG 2 covers the period from 2 December 2020 – 15 February 2021.
• they have been in receipt of grants through the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) scheme.

This payment will be in addition to, not instead of, the Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed).

The ARG Top Up payment will be available to indoor and outdoor leisure businesses, that are business rates payers, have been mandated to close and have been unable to operate the substantive part of their business.

The Council is including the following business sectors in the category of indoor and outdoor leisure

• Equestrian Activities (riding schools, stables etc).
• Golf Courses
• Curling Rinks
• Bowling Alleys
• Fishing Lakes/Lodges
• Paintball/Rifle Clubs
• Climbing/ Tree Top Activities

The amount awarded to businesses will vary according to the rateable value of the premise occupied.

If you have already been in receipt of funding under the LRSG (Closed), no further evidence will be required from you.  Businesses will be asked to confirm that they were trading in the borough on 5 January 2021 and still occupy their premise.

This grant is available to individuals who hold a valid and current Hackney Carriage / Private Hire licence issued by Tunbridge Wells Borough Council.

• If your taxi driver licence is suspended you will not be eligible.
• If you are a taxi business and have a registered business rates number, you are not eligible for the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Licensed Drivers) Grant. Please see if you are eligible to apply under ARG Round 3.
• You can only receive either the ARG Round 3 grant or the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Licensed Drivers) Grant, not both.
• Drivers who apply for the ARG Round 3, but are not successful, will automatically be considered for the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Licensed Drivers) Grant. Please do not apply for both schemes.
• If you are a taxi driver who lives in Tunbridge Wells, but you are not licenced in Tunbridge Wells borough, you are unfortunately not able to apply for the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Licenced Drivers) ARG scheme. You can however apply under the Additional Restrictions Grant Round 3, providing you meet the eligibility criteria and can show proof that you are trading in the borough of Tunbridge Wells.
• If you have received a grant under ARG Round 1 or Round 2, you are not eligible to apply for this.

The grant to be awarded is a one off lump sum payment of £1,000.

Licenced drivers registered with Tunbridge Wells Borough Council will be directly contacted by the Licensing team via email inviting them to apply. This ARG top up payment will be available to Gyms and Exercise studios, who are business rates payers, that have been mandated to close and have not been able to operate the substantive part of their business.

The Council is including the following business sectors in the category of ‘Gyms and Exercise Studios’:

• Gyms
• Pilates and Yoga Studios
• Spin Studios
• Dance Schools and Studios
• Health and Fitness Clubs
• Martial Arts and Self Defence Clubs

The amount awarded to businesses will vary according to the rateable value of the premise occupied.

If you have already been in receipt of funding under the LRSG (Closed), no further evidence will be required from you.  Businesses will be asked to confirm that they were trading in the borough on 5 January 2021 and still occupy their premise

This payment will be available to children’s nurseries, pre-schools and registered after school clubs. The applicant must be the business rate payer and childcare must be the substantive part of their business.

Businesses will be asked to provide proof of:

• A business bank statement dated within the last 3 months
• Confirmation that the business was trading in the borough on 5 January 2021
• Confirmation that the business continues to occupy their premise

The amount awarded to businesses will vary according to the rateable value of the premise occupied.

This payment will be available to flexible co-working office space providers in Tunbridge Wells Borough. The applicant must be the business rate payer and this must be the substantive part of the business.

As of 20 December 2020, Tunbridge Wells was placed into Tier 4 of local restrictions. Further Local Restriction Support Grants (LRSG) have been announced, which will be available on a 14-day basis for businesses that have been directly required to close because of government restrictions.

Businesses that have already applied for the LRSG Closed for the period 5 November to 1 December (the period of national restrictions) will receive direct communication from the council inviting them to apply for the Tier 4 grant.

Businesses will not be able to apply for the Tier 4 grant before having applied for the national LRSG Closed  You will be contacted via the email address that you provided on the original LRSG Closed application.

Businesses in any sector (except Hospitality businesses which are covered by the ARG Hospitality One-Off payment above)
Businesses that have had to close as a result of restrictions or have been able to remain open or partially open
Businesses in either rated premises, or, non-rated premises (or those not liable for rate payments). This includes those in shared spaces, home based businesses, B&Bs, holiday lets and market traders

Businesses must be able to provide clear evidence of:
A significant reduction in income of at least 30%, caused by the Covid restrictions for the period between Wednesday 2 December 2020 to Monday 4 January 2021
Evidence of their fixed business costs (excluding staffing) being in excess of their income
The business trading in the borough on 2 December 2020.

Eligibility for the Closed Business Lockdown Payment does not necessarily determine eligibility for this scheme.

This payment will be available to hospitality businesses, which are the business rates payer, that have been told to close and have not been able to operate the substantive part of their business. It is intended to support businesses from the 2 December 2020, which was the start of Tier 3 restrictions after the second lockdown, until the 4 January 2021.

The amount awarded to businesses will vary according to the rateable value of the premise occupied.

As part of the application process, businesses will need to confirm that they have suffered a loss of income as a result of local and national restrictions and that they have significant on-going fixed costs.

The Council has defined ‘hospitality’ to include the following business sectors:
pubs/bars
restaurants
cafes
hotels (which include a restaurant or bar on their premises)
entertainment venues (including businesses such as music venues, theatres, cinemas and escape rooms)

Please note: that this does not include businesses in the supply chain to the Hospitality sector. These businesses are however able to submit an application for ARG funding under the ‘Round 2’

For businesses required to close by government and registered for business rates.

As Tunbridge Wells was placed in Tier 3 restrictions from 2 December, there are further Local Restriction Support Grants available, on a 14-day basis, for businesses that continued to remain closed during this period.

Businesses that have already applied for the LRSG Closed for the period 5 November to 1 December (under the national restrictions) will receive a direct communication from the council, inviting them to apply for the Tier 3 grant.
