January 1st 2021, Brexit certainly delivered everything we anticipated and more! Even businesses that felt they were Brexit Ready, have been hard hit.
Whilst organisations think the dust has settled and subsequently taking their foot of the pedal. Further rules & regulations will be introduced into the U.K. at various times from June 21 through to January 2022. These rules & regulations include;
- 1st round of Supplementary Declarations which must be completed by June 24th for organisations that used “Deferred Entry Scheme” in January
- ISPM15 (Heat Treated Products e.g pallets) imports into the U.K – July 2021
- Sanitary & Phytosanitary paperwork and customs inspections from EU/U.K – Nov 2021 & Full SPS – Jan 2022
- Removal of simplified entry process to Full Entry Declarations for imports into the U.K – Jan 2022
- Full Safety & Security Declarations for imports in the U.K – Jan 2022
All of which will have various implications within businesses with EU/U.K cross-border trade, that could result in non-compliance with Customs, financial penalties, criminal proceedings, logistical delays, increased costs and further business risks
