By law, anybody who works with food must understand the principles of food hygiene and know how to keep food safe to protect their food from hazards and their consumers from harm.

This Level 2 course will help you satisfy this legal requirement and know how to keep your customers safe. The content thoroughly covers topics relevant to food retailers, including how to identify food hygiene hazards, control contamination, and work in a way that ensures all food prepared, handled, sold is safe to eat. The course will cover cleaning and disinfecting procedures for all equipment used, safe food storage and pest control, safe handling of food and the creation of food products that comply with all of the relevant health and safety standards.

This workshop is particularly of interest to businesses and individuals who work with food and have not gained a Level 2 in Food Hygiene- such as pre-start up, students, new members of staff from larger food businesses.

The workshop will be hosted by Dr Richard Fuchs, Food Safety Specialist and Programme Leader for MSc Food Safety and Quality Management, at the University of Greenwich.

Lunch will be provided.
