Swale Borough Council offers free Starting in Business workshops to residents of Swale and those looking to start a business in Swale.

The workshops take place over two half day sessions and cover the following:

• Managing the Business
• Researching the Market

Day 2

• The Market
• Sales
• So now for the big push

These sessions equip you with all the information and know how to develop your business plan and get your business up and running.

The information you supply by registering for this workshop will be used for the purpose of providing business support, including registration and any further enquiries you make as part of the service.

All information provided will be held and processed (this means collect, store and use) in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date and not keep it for longer than it is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept, but in most cases the Council will use its discretion to ensure that we do not keep records outside of our normal business requirements – i.e. providing a service to you.

The information obtained will be used only for those purposes detailed above and may be shared with other departments within the Council for the same purposes only. However this authority is under a duty to protect the public funds it administers and to this end may use the information you have provided for the prevention and detection of fraud. It may also share this information with other bodies responsible for auditing or administering public funds for these purposes. If disclosure of your information is requested by other departments or by third parties for any other purpose we will only disclose where we are required to do so by law.
